![]() ![]() I like the DA and the SA better on my P64 now, but it didn't start out that way. ![]() My Mak has been usable in every way since day 1. I had to fix the DA on my P64 to be able to use it successfully. My Mak has been like that since i got it with the cosmoline packed in fresh from wherever they get these! I suspect the safety issue was affecting more than I realized, however, last range visit was the first time it ran a couple of hundred rounds of HP, FMJ of differing types without issue. Until recently, I didn't feel my P64 was that reliable for ammo types such as HP. My bulgarian has never had a safety problem of any type. Check out the activity on that post in the fixes section here at the forum. I recently fixed the problem with my safety falling which is common for many P64 users. Pistol has poor accuracy and effective range is only 25 meters, in addition magazine release button is on. Bulgarian Makarov copies are available on the surplus market and are a good find. Russian Makarov imports lasted only a few short years due to the Clinton import ban. The 9x18mm Makarov cartridge is distinct from the 9mm Luger, uses an odd-sized. The blue black finish of my P64 is good, but definitely not better than my Bulgarian Mak. I have an AK-47 model 1958 Circle 11 Poland. The Makarov 9mm is a Russian-designed double-action, straight blowback pistol. My Make frame is not rough but the texture of the frame is different similarly so on my P64. It is a deep dark brown-black bluing especially on the slide. My Bulgarian is actually very impressive for finish. Just means I need to spend more time at the range with my Mak! The smaller size of my P64 forces a grip that has recently got me better accuracy than my Mak. I don't use mine for CCW so fewer rounds is a bigger disadvantage than size. P64's are smaller and easier to conceal, however less rounds too. I like my P64 and it has recently become a favorite shooter. ![]()
